Well a concourse car is one that is not fit for the public road, only being suitable to run along a concourse or promenade or similar.
A concours car however is suitable as an competitor in a concours d'elegance competition and as such could sneekily have been pushed into position from its covered trailer very early prior to anyone else arriving at the showground.

Yeah but isn't the whole point of a concourse to have the car as close to perfect condition as possible?

Doh!
A concourse is a walkway A concours d'elegance is a contest for the most elegant coachwork, formerly often accompanied by an elegant lady in complementary attire. The modern concours contests stress origininality and cleanliness. Note the spelling differetiationss please that were the crux of the completely missed supposed witticism in my previous entry on this subject.
