Tool type and size

Anyone know what tool is required to take off the "Door latch base". It's the bracket that pins the door to the body with that slide bar" door stay"? Between the two hinges. It's not a Torxs.

That is a 12-point tool. You can find a set at autozone for $13.99. I've forgotten the size, but it was the smallest one in the set.

the twelve point tool is called a Triple Square or also sometimes a Cheese Head Tool. There are several places on our Porsches that use various sizes.

Like the flywheel (MM), but the one you are referring to is a Triple Square M6.

Wurth has a set that consists of both long and short, 12 point (M6-12), 6 point (Tx20-50 & Tx40-50 extra long) and short Security Torx sizes Tx20-55, plus a ratchet handle for $65.00 The set has all of the removers for the "special type" fasteners you will encounter while working on your wonderful little jewel.
