porsche vs chev
i got this kid who wants to race my 924s against his chevelle with a 454 in it.. i says ok.. 1/4 mile , for pink slips.... he's thinking about it.
cruzin with a new car soon..yup!

Sounds like the time when I raced an indy car and won. I should have bet for pink slips but I only bet to buy lunch, oh well. Next time...

we did this in the late 70s alot . gas was 30 cents a gal. i saw this guy lose his car to a honda motocycle....his car just spun tires, the bike was half way there, one more second , he would caught the bike, sorry bud

I don't think I would do it in my turbo, I had a 71 Camero with a 454 in it in the early 80's.........................I hope your 924S has a Renegade engine swap or a small rocket engine in it.

ya, 454's are quite beastly. those early detroit cars were made for straight lines, whereas a porsche 924 is a curve car. however, if you do end up schoolin him, how'd you like to trade a chevelle for a 88 944 n/a???? just thinkin....

A Chevelle with a 454? Are you high! He will eat your Pcar for lunch. The 454 is coupled normally to the turbo350 three speed tranny. That car has easily double the torque that my 951 has! Hope you don't mind walking.

well the kid says dad won't let him do it. and he needs to fix that 2nd gear shift problem, and when he gets a tune up he'll be ready... darn... i'll pass this time.

Hope the Chevelle doesn't throw oil, because if it does, you won't be able to see out of your windshield when he eats your 924. You don't really believe that a 924S 4 cyl. will beat a 454 v8 in a straight run do you?

Why race fpor slips..I mean your gonna be cryin alot after its over..what if you miss a shift.....I will never race for slips....like it suggested before..why dont you race for lunch or 50 bucks? sorry to be a partyy poooper..-chris

**** I once I fix my 951 up I'm racing my friends monte carlo that ran a 12.4 in 1/4 with nos but the deal is rolling start from 35mph. Any of you guys want to buy my turbo after I beat him.

Don't do it, unless you've got that speedforce supercharger or something...I know I'd be cryin if I lost my car in a drag race, especially when the car's designed for the curves...
