Idle, vac lines, boost gauge, brass T's
First up...
Thanks to a Rennlister's advice I disabled the idle stabilizer by shorting ports B and C on the test port and setting the idle. With the idle stabilizer disabled my idle was ~400rpm ![]() Previously, if I revved it idle would drop to 700 rpm or so and then pick back up. Now, it drops quickly to 1200rpm, shudders a tiny bit as I assume the idle stabilizer kicks in, then drops slowly to 1000rpm and extremely slowly to 900rpm (like 30 seconds to drop from 1000 to 900). I'm thinking either the idle stabilizer or my vacum leak is causing this? Guess I'll try disabling the idle stabilizer again and revving it...and seeing if it drops straight to 900? Or would it never do that with the idle stabilizer disabled? Nextt..Vac lines. I ordered 3.5mm silicon stuff from hosetechniques.com, I assumed it would be easy to find brass T's. It's not! Home depot, sears, hardware store and auto parts store don't have em. All but sears had plastic T's, though. Where else should I look for brass? Should I just get the plastic stuff? How many T's do I need? How many Y's? (if any) Just a rough number would be fine...I can return whatever I dont use. In a related issue...I couldn't find a T to tee into the line going to the KLR for my aftermarket boost gauge...its tiny stuff. Any suggestions? TIA --Adrial
