front bumper mod
I drilled a hole on the front bumper shocks. A little blue/green mixture came out. But the shock doesn't want to "give" and stays in the "out" position. Am I doing something wrong? TIA

why did you do this those shock are designed to absorb the impact of your car and do not move eaisly are you sure its stuck
|
Give it a tap with a hammer, it may just be a little stuck..... thats all you have to do....
Are you plugging up the holes in the front, from the bumper pads? Post some pics, when you are done. Alex |
Keep drilling...make the hole in the shock bigger...it should spray out like crazy.......just cover your eyes ;) good luck chris

OK guys, I'll just hit it with a bigger drill bit first and see if I strike oil.
Roger--its just an appearance thing some of the other guys have done. I think it looks better. As far as taking off the bumper pads, I'm taking the body parts I've got off to the painter this Friday and I'm going to ask him if he thinks paint will stick to these rubber parts (guards red). He's going to be mixing some "plasticizer" for the spoiler anyway so we'll see what he thinks. If its borderline, I'm thinking of having the holes filled since I'm going to have both bumpers painted anyway. But yeah, I'll get some pictures going when it comes together. |
i don't understand....what rubber bits, my euro bumber don't have shocks nor have rubber bits......appearance...que.....are u after smaller bumpers that dont stick out as far, go for euro's, just dont smack into anything!!! or go for a GT front...u can eliminate the front bumper altogether...what r u trying to achieve?...Leadfoot:)
