944 outer door handle finger pull replacement

Has anybody ever dismantled the outside door handle, and changed only the finger pull lever? Mine broke off

1987 944, non electric locks.

Only a guess, it would probably be easier to get a used handle.

It's not to hard of a job - Just punch out the center pin that holds the finger lever in place and remove the finger lever piece that's left, and make sure that you retain the finger lever spring as it will have to be re-installed with the new parts...A new spring pin is available at the local hardware store (Also sometimes called a rolled spring pin).

Also handy to have a long nose 3/32" punch because some of the spring pins in place are flared on one end. The long nose punch gets past the flair and hits the solid land just past the flair to make removal easier...
