17" Wheels and Spacers...

Hi,

I have attached pic my 944S2 Cab with 17" Cup Wheels..
Rear - 255/40R17 Bridgestone SO2

1/ Can anyone confirm which CUP wheels model 1 or 2. I am told by dealer that are original. Will get part no tomorrow it starts with a 911.XXX

2/ Can anyone confirm wether or not they would need spacers at the rear or how do we tell.

3/ Do porsche make official spacers ?? for 17" Wheels..

4/ What are the porsche official 17" Wheel part no that fit the 944.

It appear the previous owner has also ground an angle on the nut heads on the rear hub down in between the studs to make the wheel fit.. This is not good... any one seen this before... I dont think this best practice.....

Any advice would be appreciated, as according to the compliance org no spacer are allowed at the time of compliance, so will need to work around this... also nuts on hubs might need to be sorted..

Thanks,

Simon

Dont know the answer to your question but Im sure if you run a search on the archive you'll dig sumthing up. Beaut car tho. Look forward to seeing it on the streets. You a PCNZ member? Theres a great porsche mech that works from home in Kelston. Ive seen eight or nine porsches parked (jammed!!) around his section at one time. Just look up Autostasse in the phone book. His name is Leonard.

p.s he has lots of watercooled experience. he has alot of business with the bridgestone porsche series

Porsche approved 17" on certain 944 models.

You should not need spacers as most 17" Porsche wheels use the same offset. Unfortunately I don't have the bulletin to hand for the relevant part numbers.

The wheels you have are the 964 Cup design. Remove the wheels and check on the inside reim for the Porsche part number and genuine parts stamp.

Most of the time people use either the 964 wheel as you have or the 968/993 wheel.

Thumbs up Cup 1/2

Millie Miglia was the company that used Cup 1, Cup 2, Cup 3

Yours I believe are cup 1,
the 964 wheels are cup 2,
and the turbo twists are cup 3
