Oil pressure

I replaced all the gaskets on the cam tower the other day and I have noticed that my oil pressure is down about 7-10 PSI across the board. Anyone run in to this? It is a new one on me.

Did you change the oil type?

Good point ^. If you did not change the oil type....

Maybe clean/tighten the connections on the oil pressure sending switch on the oil cooler housing.

Make sure the wires from the oil pressure sending switch are not frayed or the plastic wire cover is cracked. Follow the wires up over the WP to the top of the engine and make sure they are not damaged.

It could be the oil pressure sending switch itself. Locally expensive, but not bad if you order.

The OPRV valve may need new "O" rings ---2-- 1 inner and 1 outer. Get the aluminum crush washer for the OPRV at the same time to avoid drips.

Grounds under the dash could be cleaned.

I vote for the oil pressure sending switch or the OPRV "O" rings if you did not change the type of oil used previously.

What in the world is a psi?

It's probably more likely a ground/electrical/sensor issue if it really has suddenly started doing it. If the OPRV worked previous to the job, it's not likely the o-rings suddenly failed...unless some stray gasket material has gotten into it and jammed it up.

I am betting grounds as I disconnected the ground when I did the cam tower gasket and belts.

I did not change the oil.

I did add about a quart. (same viscosity) but this was after I noticed the oil pressure.

PSI = Pounds / square inch. I replaced the stock pressure gauge that reads in bar with one that reads in PSI. I actually have two of them one reads from the stock location and the other reads from the top of the accusump.

I will go over the ground at the battery and make sure things are good to go.

psi--- pounds per square inch, however the standard oil gage is presented in bars
1 bar = 14.5 psi

Green text = sarcasm.

It's gotten to where psi doesn't mean much to me anymore, this being the only car I drive.
