Power window off kilter
Yesterday my driver's side power window came off track at our local Cars & Coffee. I was able to get it closed and in position for the drive home. Today I took off the door panel and poked around a little.
I am documenting the fix for this to help anyone in the future who has this problem. I am sorry I did not take any pictures, but my hands were full and greasy at the time. There were two things going on. First, both regulator wheels were not in the track that attaches to the bottom of the window. Second, the window was pulling out of half of that track. After fiddling around with it, to include taking out the regulator, and pulling the track the rest of the way off the window, and wiggling the window out the inside of the door I was able to see how the whole thing worked. I think the adhesive holding the track to the bottom of the window had broken loose, and the track had then slipped off the regulator wheels. Nothing was broken, so it just had to be put back together, and the window glued into the track. The easiest way to put this thing together is to add adhesive to the window channel in the track that fits on the bottom of the window to hold it on. The regulator has a channel on the lower left side that a wheel has to run in, and be bolted back in with that in position. The track that the bottom of the window fits in should then be slid on to the wheels on the regulator. The window can then be slid in from the inside of the door and pushed into the adhesive filled track. MAKE SURE THE WINDOW SITS IN THE CHANNEL IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE AS WHEN IT CAME OUT!!! Mark the glue spots on the window against the ones on the channel. The whole process was pretty easy, and took a little less then an hour.

Good write up, but how many times in the Corps were you told a picture is worth a thousand words.
Cheers, Larry
