968 to 951 wireing harness

Hello any one out here have a 968 with a 944 turbo motor installed ? I would like to see the 14 pin wiring changes and the factory alarm with the early type system as apposed to the 968 928 type box. any info would be appreciated. or a nice wiring diag for the 968 dme 14 pin change over would be great. if the instrument cluster is any indication, the harnesses are completely different - i just went through that as i have been integrating the 951 boost gauge into my 968 cluster so i can read the boost and vacuum on the supercharger - almost none of the wires matched up

it's all wired in, and the vacuum side works - i haven't checked the boost side yet - i've been too busy getting the supercharger kit CARB certified - i'll be done with that tuesday though i should be able to verify the boost side of the gauge this week

Go over to Rennlist and do a search there are dozens of guys who have performed this and all the info you could ever want is already posted publicly! There are only a few pins you ned to change on the drivers side firewall plug for the wiring harness to work which year turbo harness do you have? Print off the 2 page engine wiring diagram for your year turbo harness as well as 968 then simply follow the routing of all 14 wires in that firewall plug, as well as the flat blade passenger footwell connector! And if you have a '86 - '87 turbo harness then its a square red connector! Did you run a oil pan with level indicator? Are you running factory boost gauge in tach? Thats only 1 wire pretty simple to run down to footwell! Also once finished and motor runs right if and when your battery goes dead its because the 968 DME relay is controlled by switched ground and the turbo harness into 968 chassis modifications make it so that you switch a wire to create the DME relay always being on. This is because the turbo cars switch the relay differently its with 12volts! After this happened I simply pulled central electrics out 12" and rewired that one pin going to DME relay to have switched ground!

Yep the 86 cars have a body ground for the dme relay and the 968 supplies a ground through computer.
