Early Trans on Late Car
Wondering if there is any issues mounting an 83 trans in a 86 car. I know the speedo wont work but this is for a Lemons car and speedo doesnt matter. I just wasnt sure if there were any mounting issues since the gas tanks are different. If anyone knows it would be great.

No other issues but you will have to use the late tranny mounting bracket, tranny mount and cross member.
I plan on doing the same on my track 1986 944 |

I would make sure your early transmission has the mounting bolt holes in the spine of the transmission. I have one that came out of my 83' car that DOES NOT have the holes for the later style mount. I think I posted the picture of it up on the forum here somewhere but at this time I cannot find the picture. I am not sure if it was originally from my car or something earlier but just be aware that you should check for it. Other than that there should be no issue.
