Question Position of Sender for Oil Level

When orienting the sender for oil level into the oil pan, does the pointed "nose" end point upwards away from the bottom of the pan? I know that it can't point downwards because the bolts to the triangular shaped "lid" won't orient to the holes. Though the "lid" bolts will orient if the sender "nose" is on its side, I don't think it belongs that way. Thanks in advance.

The float needs to float up and supply a ground signal out when the oil level is correct.

Kfay, so the float up is the pointed "nose" up position, yes?

The tip of the sensor is facing upwards towards the engine.
