How to test an air flow meter

My friends car won't start anymore after a long time of storage.
It is a 944 MY 85

I observed no movement at all on the air flow meter when the ignition is on.
The bosch air flow meter has the no. 0280 202 064.

Between pin 1 & 4 I have 4.5v on idle.
How can I test the air flow meter?

Should it slightly open on ignition on?

BR
Bob
