My return to Porsche
For a while I am sad to say that I have not owned a 944. If some of you older members remember I used to be on this BBS as SamsTurboS but about a year or two ago I sold my 951S and purchase a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII. Now that I have fulfilled my passion for British sports cars I had to have another 944. At the time of purchasing my new 951 I was not looking for a new car. I found this midnight blue 951 in the paper and decided to drive over and take a look seeing as how the car was only 10 miles away from my school. When I saw the car and drove I just had to buy it. I have recently sold my Healey and now am driving a beautiful midnight blue 1989 Porsche 951 with a k-27 turbo. I am so happy to be at the wheel of a 951 and am glad to return to the Pelican Parts BBS.

oh, well I loved the Healey it just wasnt very pratical. I had a hart top on it but there were no roll up windows and the heater was terrible. My dad still has the Morgan so I can drive it when I want to feed my british spots car addiction. I just missed my 944 with a passion and needed it back. Also during the summer commute the Healey would over heat in heave traffic and was very unsafe. Thanks for the relpys...

Hey now! At least when somthin falls of thes cars I can just slap anothe one on there. With a Porsche or any new car for that matter I would have to take the whole damn car apart. BTW my Healey only broke down once cause I put the fuel paump in wrong so HAW!

I've been to the Dark side ( I only say that becuse lucas makes Light bulbs ). I've had Lotus, Austin Healy, and Jensen, Morris, MG, I've seen the light for the most part the German stuff is so much better made. I towed up a 1954 AH 100M with race history from SLO to SF couple week ends ago borrowed my buddies 3/4 Ton 4x4 Dodge Diesel. 22ft equipment trailer... We got taken out on the 880 in Milpitas but a chick in a honda Civic. Damm ended up over three lanes screwed the truck up bad but the Healy survived ( it was the first time it's been in daylight in 10 years too.

I second Lordgrommit's notion. I have a '72 TR-6 so I guess you could classify me as being on both sides. I'll tell ya - Sam, you've got guts for driving a British sports car as your daily commuter. These cars are in prehistoric times compared to our beloved 944s. But that's what gives them character. They're made for those Sunday drives in the summer as you hear the burring of the engine with a faint smell of leather & gasoline. Great fun.
And don't even get me started on Lucas products ![]() |
