Throttle body

I just took out the throttle body for a bit of inspection/cleaning. I noticed a few things:

- There is a very small amount of motoroil present in the turbo-intercooler pipe
- There is a very small amount of motoroil present in the intercooler-turbo pipe.
- The throttle body is pretty dirty, as well as a bit of the intake manifold.

Of course i cleaned the throttle body until it looked brand new (inside and outside). I then noticed that the flap isn't completly sealing against the body... there are very small gaps around the flap when holding it to the light in the closed position. Is it normal that the flap in the body isn't a 100% seal? The alignment seems fine, the flap has the small gaps all around.

One other question: what is the screw on top of the body? I noticed it's a kind of bypass (when flap is completly closed?) that is adjustable by screwing it on/out... Is this right?

all that stuff is normal. there should be a bit of gunk in there (it's scary, but it's normal). there should not be a 100% tight seal as air needs to "bleed" around it. if we're thinking of the same thing... that screw is to adjust idle speed (at least that's what it is on all the other 924/944s
