Stock bushing instalation
Any tips or tricks to installing stock rubber bushings. I'm in the process of replacing all the front suspention bushings especialy the controll arm bushings. not so fun to take off.
I'm thinking of using silicone spray to help with the instalation

Liquid dish soap.
I did the harder poly bushings from Weltmeister with drilled and tapped grease zerks. I am about to tackle the rear suspension starting tomorrow. Speedy ![]()

I used silicon on the rubber bushing install on my front sway-bar and it worked out well.

Plain old rubbing alcohol, once the bushing is on, it will completely evaporate. Soap will leave a residue that never evaporates, and silicone will take a while to evaporate, and can cause the bushing to slip and slide in the bracket.

Remember not to tighten the front mount until the wheel is supporting the weight of the car.

I have some more reading to do but im asuming a. install bushings on controll arm b. install control arm and hand tighten bolts or fully tighten and sit in car for 30 min so that the rear bushing will level out and so rest will settle c. let the car sit for half of the day before driving to insure all bushings have settled that's kinda the idea i've read when searching the net on bushing lubricant

I used heavy duty silicone spray and the sway bar busings that go on the controll arm went in pretty easy but it still able to kinda slide it a little so i may have to re do it, we will see if it's still the same when i check it in the morning.

Referring to front control arm bushings. Tire should be on a ramp before torquing.
