brakes HELP!?

alright i was driving one day and not paying attention i almost missed a turn i had to take so i hit the brakes pretty hard and they held like normal then i lost all pressure. now whenever i press the brakes too hard i lose pretty much all braking. i checked the master cylinder and found now leaks and no other obvious signs of leakage . So what the hell. scared the ****e outta me.

To see if it's your brake booster, with the car not running, pump the brakes until they won't go down anymore and hold it there. Start the car. If it goes to the floor, the booster is OK.

JH,

I would just about bet it's your master cylinder, but could be low fluid & or air in lines.

Where did you check the master cylinder for leaks, in the floor board?

I'd crawl up under the car with a light & look at lines, fittings, & calipers with a light to see if there were any wet places that could be fluid leaks. Then I would bleed the master cylinder the old way (pump it up hold, crack the lines, tighten them, then pump again.) If you're not getting fluid & can't see a good return in the resoirvoir when you let off, it's probably the master cylinder.

I'm not sure if a 924S has a two diameter master cylinder or proportioning valve to balance front & back. If a proportioning valve, it could be that or a leaking caliper on the rear that keeps the front brakes from holding enough pressure to work the calipers good.
