Question Alternator AC pulley

Before ordering stuff or getting out the tools, I am trying to determine what the issue is with my 944 S2 alternator/ac pulley on the engine. It is loose. Elsewhere in this forum it was indicated that the bolts holding the pulley to the crank timing belt gear shear off--that means a new pulley and gear. However, I was led to believe that the alternator pulley (which by the way is called a vibration dampener) has a rubber ring in between the outside pulley and the inside. I have seen on other vehicles that this rubber will separate and cause the failure of the pulley. My question is: does the 944S2 have a rubber ring in the pulley (dampener) that can separate and fail? Thanks.
