HG dme plug and tach 944S 1987

Here it is, no tach, resistors shorted out, not sure what value due to them being burnt out (picture on different post)

What i am getting so far using an ohms showing continuity. ( using the help of the shop schematics.
DME #2 goes to dash cluster plug b#2 (power maybe)
DME #6 goes to dash cluster plug b #3
Dash Cluster 3b goes to the X in hand drawn pic of the HG dme plug
but does connect to DME #6
DME #19 goes to the two xo in the hand drawn picture.

Red colored squares is where the 1988 944S has jumpers on the HG DME plug.
The two top red squares labeled 1 and 2 ans well as the green colored squares is the way a recieved to car with a blown engine. ( I replaced the engine and harness)
The purple square is where there was a jumper to another plug that looked questionable.

pic of DME hg plug.

I replaced the resisters with 10ohm and had the DME hg plug like it was when i received the car, and instantly fired the new resistors.

I replaced the resistors with 100 ohms and installed the wiring like my wifes and smoke escaped after a few minutes of running. Maybe to low of a ohms?

you really shouldnt have started a new thread for this.

either way, i have no idea what you're trying to say. you swapped the engine or the dme? those jumpers look highly suspect, you should never be doing that unless it's a "just to get home" scenario.

As stated I replaced the engine and harness. I am using me wifes perfectly running 944S as a guide and of course the manual. I do actually have experience trouble shooting and soldering. The issue I am having is the PO was suspect on his ability to work on these 944s, and this is basically the last major issue on the project. It running pretty good. I do have two dme for this car (not touching the wife DME) one with a euro racing chip and the other is a Weltmeister racing chip which hauls ass. The green wires on the plug go to #86 of the DME relay for coil power. I am going to spend some time tracing the rest of the plugs connections (8) and probably buy an oscilloscope further test the guage. I ended up taking my wifes tach apart to get the proper color code for the resistors.
