Could just be the light reflection, but the color of the door and the fender don't look like they match. At least the car is straight though.

Good eye, the paint on my car looks like complete ass. Except for the left fender and the spoiler, since it just got done. The hood also looks alright, except one spot that is messed up. If I had the money I would have loved to do the rest of the car, but I'm just a poor college student. Couple years and my car will be all one color. I dream of that day...

It's just not going to be the same without the beauty mark on the driver's fender (the lil' scrape at the top edge of the fender behind the wheel)...That was your trademark...Bet you're glad to get rid of that.... ...Looks good...

Give Mom a big hug and tell her to take out the rear now...(kidding)

When I get ready to do my '83 944, I'm going to strip it all the way down. It's already been painted once before and it shows.

Same thing goes for my '79 924. It's slowly coming about. It's been in an accident sometime ago (inner fender damage) and most of the sheet metal is getting replaced. I've already replaced the hood, driver's side fender, and driver's door. Both the door and fender are already primed and jambed with the new color (pearl white).

Yeah, that mark was a key mark from some lil bastard before I even owned the car. Their is a little scratch on the door but not nearly as bad.

I've already thanked her. My mom is going to be borrowing my brothers suburban next week while her focus goes to the dealership, I told her I'll park it a little farther up so she can take out a differen't panel. Man, if she can't back out of a driveway in a little focus, I can't image what she will do with a suburban.

Thats what I'm planning on doing, but not for some time.

I have a feeling that my car was in an accident before to, I even checked it on carfax but it showed up clean. On the back two fenders their are little specs of paint just peeling off. The bodyshop guy said it looked pretty odd and he didn't know what it was from. He's been in business for some time so its not like he hasn't seen it all. I'll have to get pics of that too.

Yeah, get those pics of the back end. Chances are the surface wasn't prepped right before it went in to the paint booth. Delamination is usually the result.

944 looks much better. Not to be a bummer but the joint at the nose pannel and the fender looks a bit off. Funny on my 944 they made the fenders and the nose (section between lights) one piece when they repaired front end damage. Dumb move since the front flexes and now has broken the joint at one side. Oh well.

Also I have my 924 coming out of paint shop today. I was in there since sept 10th. Yes I know took forever. Complete repaint, fixed dents in front fender, nose, rear quarters and such. It also had severe road rash on the nose. I do not think it is perfect but it is to the point that I can now learn a bit about wet sanding and get it to the condition I want. If anyone is interested I paid $2200. Total. A lot yes, but was the best deal of any shop in my area... and came hightly recomended from long time mechanic and such.

Would I recomend him to any of you? The last word on that is not out. I will let you know. I have some pictures of before on my site under my projects. I will post some of the car out of the shop soon. I need to put trim and glass and such back on.
