Seems legit to me. I'm even considering purchasing this kit and I had no plans on fixing my hatch.

I don't think it will hurt but it will not fix the real issue of de-lamination.

It's nothing more than home window seal made of soft foamed neoprene. You can buy it in every hardware store for like $1/meter here in Europe. Call it 'Porsche seal' and you can pump up the price 10 times...

I wonder if anyone has tried to use the pelican parts fix, but use JB Weld instead of some caulk or window weld?

Nor will it prevent the frame from bending under the force of the hatch struts, and once it is bent beyond the edge of the glass, no amount of goop is going to help you.

Out of all the solutions I've seen on the net for this problem, this seems to be the closest to way the screen was originally sealed and so you can preserve the original look.

Guide here (You will need to register with the forum to see it)

Black glass primer (Essex™ Betaprime U5500 One-Step Glass/Frit Primer) on ebay

BETASEAL sealant on ebay

Brilliant! Best write-up I've seen. Thanks.

Cool idea, but I'd find something with a higher useful temperature. +158*F is the interior temperature of a car on a regular summer day.
