Gentex rear view mirror upgrade
 

Has anyone ever installed an updated rear view mirror...automatic dimmer, compass, map lights and temperature...I've decide on the gentex brand..seem to supply most automakers..except porsche...I was checking a few websites and got several installation variances, such as..not recommended for Porsche, need to remove the windshield button for the mirror mount and replace with another one, and there is no replacement mount button for Porsche...confusing...

has anyone installed one of these before ?..I thought for $200 it would be a cool upgrade..

I have a Gentex mounted in my 85.5 -

I left the original mount glued to the windshield and with very small screws mounted the Gentex mount to it - worked out well. This one also has an outside ambient temp sensor, which was mounted just behind the front bumper by the bumper shock.
