Do all 944's have seat belt anchor points on the tunnel?

My 87 came with power seats and had the receptacle end of the seat belt attached to the rail. The manual seats I added dont have the seat belt receptacle attached nor can I see how I could use the old factory seat mount. Before I start tearing my carpet apart, are there stock holes on the tunnel for a 1987 car? Thanks! If not, what can I do?

Okay, that sounds doable, but also not sure about threading the hole correctly. Does anyone have a solution they've come up with for this dilemma?

Don't expect to have a nut on your car that you can just bolt up to. You will need to drill and likely reinforce the area. Since this is also where there is heat shielding for the exhaust/TT, it can be a bit of a PITA to do.

Not impossible or anything, but expect it to take longer than you think.

The 1978 924 we have for Chumpcar racing already had that mounting point, but my 1988 951 does not. Not sure if the change happened between '79-80 in the 924's, between the 924/944 change, or at the 85.1/85.5 transition. Maybe someone else knows.

Good luck, Keith

Later seats had the belt as a part of the seat eliminating the need for the hole and allowing the belt receiver to go back and forth with the seat. Whenever they made the seat change......

My 83 has the hole in the tunnel. I stopped using that hole and just placed the bolt in it when I installed my later model seats( which are a vast improvement!!)I am assuming the change was 85/1- 85/2.
