In process of replacing clutch...I have a question...
While tranny was sitting outside of car I installed a short shift kit and noticed that while in gear(tranny still outside of car on work bench) the rear axles spin freely. Is that supposed to happened? Or what if I spin drive shaft with my hand should the axles move? Im trying to make sure my tranny is good before I go ahead and finish clutch job. If this is normal then I will move forward . Please advise.
P.S. If there is someone in or around NYC with a good tranny laying around I would love to come check it out. BTW I have an 88 924s thanks, leo |
well if trans is in neutral, i would hope the axles would spin free
if trans is in gear, a rotation on the input shaft should produce opposite rotations on the left and right axles |
Tranny is gear, should axles spin freely?
