Smile Which Royal Purple fluid for LSD?

Im going to change the fluid on my LSD equipped 86 944. Which Royal Purple should I be looking at? There is 160,000 KM on the car and no noises or clunks from the gearbox now. Its a weekend car used for mountain driving and 2 to three track days a year.

(I originally tried to get Redline 75-90 but all my local had was lightweight shockproof)

You should be using a GL4 rated lube in the 944/VW transaxles...don't know what RP has in that regard...I'd use Redline MT90 if you can. That said, many people have run just plain old 75w90 and seem happy with that...their synchros? maybe not!

I have searched the forum for 2 days now and can't find anyone using royal purple in their 944 (or lightweight shockproof for that matter).

I used Royal Purple for a while in my trans on my 924S. It was fine. At the time I got it cause it was cheaper than Mobil 1 and supposed to offer better protection.

I found the 17mm hex wrench{not socket} at Car Quest. ............Just noticed where you are located.
Have R/Purp. in the 6-speed and have not noticed anything unusual yet, have not put a lot of miles since changing to that.
I may go back to Dinosaur oil next change.
