In-lined Fuse Holder Reasoning/Use
 

Hello All,

Can someone with knowledge of this please break it down?
Why would you need an inline fuse holder?

What are the benefits of accessories using an inline fuse holder to the battery rather than connecting accessories directly to battery?

Would having an accessory connected directly to battery still cause a parasite relationship when car is off?
I have two gauges going straight to the battery. Should they be on inline fuse holders?

How is an inline fuse holder different from a relay?

...a fuse is a fuse. it prevents overamperage draw. it doesn't do the same thing as a relay. a relay is a switch activated by electrical current. they don't do .... related things.

So would it be best to have the gauges that are connected to the battery be used with inline fuses?

oh i saw u asked about this in the electrical draw thread.

it's always a good idea to have any electrical wire fused. that way in case of a short ciruit, u don't melt the wire and start an electrical fire
