Water Ingress - Windshield?
I unexpectedly had a free day today so this afternoon I decided to pull the dash and further explore what I thought was a leaking sunroof drain. I had previously threaded heavy duty weed wacker line down the suspected front passenger side sunroof drain and examined the battery box and drain without finding any clogs or holes. I had noticed some bubble-like voids in the adhesive near the point the antenna wire enters the windshield but thought nah it'd have to go up hill and the quantity in a steady rain seemed too great for that.
![]() Pulled the dash thinking I'd find the sunroof drain shrunk and short but not the case. Didn't see any cracks. Poured water bottleful along the front edge of the sunroof on the affected side while I had the drain tube in a bucket. No moisture on the outside of tube and none inside Water ran down the windshield to the area by the antenna and feeling along lower edge of the windshield inside it is damp now where it had been dry.![]() I'm thinking of trying the silicone sealant that is supposed to flow along the lower edge of the glass. If that doesn't work may need to have windshield pulled and reinstalled. Anyone have any other thoughts or ideas?
