flywheel?
I just bought a new Sachs clutch and I heard that its good to replace the flywheel bolts after its re surfaced. Is this true, and is there anything else I should do before I put it all together?

The bolts that attach the flywheel to the crankshaft are "one use only".

because they stretch
you should also change the ones that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, due to wear on the tool receiver portion - failure to do that can easily result in a very difficult time removing them later |

If you have experience by the Pelican Kaco The Crank shaft has to be oiled with conventional oil or the seal will burn out Oil the inner seal lips as well. Clean the cavity and remove burrs on the "screwdriver" indent or the seal will rip. Press the RMS seal in the engine with a professional or home made press. If you do not follow this procedure, your RMS will leak and you redo the whole cluch job to replace it. Set the gap on the reference sensors without the bell housing attached. The Pressure plate bolts can be reused---but why not change them as well... For a perfect combination of Pressure Plate to Flywheel, a machine shop should balance the combination after the FW is surfaced. Check the clutch fork for stress cracks. Check the clutch fork rod for "deep" bearing grooves. If serious, replace. Get a new TO guide tube, the original may have cracks. Replace the pilot bearing. More? sure.... GL John
