To clear this up, I decided to go out and take pictures of a 924 2.0L manual rack versus a 944 manual rack.
In the first picture, you will see that although the metal bodies are the same length, and they use the same size tierod locknut, the rack bodies are markedly different in terms of mounting and the rack/pinion lash setting. The 944 rack is the top, 924 is bottom. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1312675711.jpg In this second picture, you will see the difference in height of the pinion shaft. The longer shaft is for the 944 manual rack, the shorter is the 924 rack. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1312675718.jpg In this picture, I have laid out the intermediate shafts from a 924 2.0L and a 944 manual steering car. The 924 shaft is a full 1.25" longer than the 944 shaft and has different U-joints, although the splines for both shafts are exactly the same. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1312675726.jpg You have come into my thread, criticized my pricing and accused me of trying to "bend people over", then start spewing false information because you can't counter my experience of selling these parts. Unless you would like to make an offer to buy these parts, which you are more than welcome to if you disagree with my pricing, please exit this thread until it is closed. |
the part was super seaded ! as stated in my crash books and in my porsche parts disc and micro film . thats wrong is listing things for sale in this category ! i don't do it !ITS WRONG !! you must have wanted to discuss the rack you have for sale ? or why would it be listed in the discussion category ? the way i look at it is if you want no comments then list it were it should be listed and not in this category .

This one spiraled out of control... I wouldn't know what they go for, I haven't shopped them in years. Something didn't look right, so I looked at my spare rack, ends, etc. and posted. Bump for a sale.
