Porsche Crest a glorious day for my car...

well, for the first time in 6 years, yes 6 long years my car was driven on the road. We have been restoring it for about 5 months slowly. Soon we are going to paint it*silver*. but we got the crappy old tires off of it and got some new ones, so it was road worthy. It was great, I have only been driving it on a small gravel drive-way just checking things with my dad and grandpa recently, but the road was great. It was also the first time i had driven a manual transmissioned car on the road too, and the several times up and down the drive-way helped, no stalling, shaking or anything. I can't wait to drive her again... We bought her and it didn't run and not one thing worked, but now everything works except the back-up lights. twas a great day...
NOW AT HOME, NOT AT OUR "SHOP"^^

That's cool, congrats on getting the car road-worthy. Keep us posted as your work on the car progresses (paint job, etc.)
Good Luck

Thats awesom! I was looking for some inspiration, mine goes into the body shop on Monday for a makeover (do to being rearended.) And since the other driver was uninsured it is costing me 2k+ for the work! But now I feel much better about it! Thanks!

Excellent work, I love hearing things like this! On the other hand I just have to wonder...with so many great people bringing shoddy cars back from the dead, who the hell is stupid enough to allow their cars to get into such poor shape in the first place?!

how did you manage to fit those kind of pedals on there? the accelerator on our cars is pinned to the ground and i didn't know those pedals were compatible.

Porsche Crest

alright, i will keep you all posted, first off the history of my car is I think the previous owner didn't have time for working on it and maybe things started going bad. then there was a fire under the hood, that's why the paint is really bad there. The coil burnt up and then was replaced, i think by then the owner just gave up and sold it to a small dealership near my house. I saw it sitting behind the dealership one day, and then came to buying it. I also think that over time everything just kind of stoped working, 6 years is a long time...so we replaced like:headlight motor, washer fluid pump, fuel pump, fuel filter, cleaned injector parts, working on interior now, heater bar, cleaned many grounds, changed horns, new CD player, water pump/belts, fog-lights, have a new marker light to put on now that missing...and several other small things

the pedal covers didn't fit very well, the brake and clutch were hard to get on, it took me a while, and the accelorator pedal that came in the package is much smaller then the stock pedal. but up close you can tell how much larger the stock pedal is compaired to the cover. but, from a few feet away and in pictures it looks good, i also use the floor-mat, to cover the bottom of the exposed stock pedal. but the accelerator pedal cover straps on around the actual pedal and fits fine.

Great!!!

Good on you and your helpers. It's got to be a great feeling. Just knowing what you started with and what you've turned it into must give you great satisfaction. Congratulations.

Is that a ***** eat'n grin you're wearing in the first photo? Brings back (way back) memories of my first rebuild before I got my license to drive. Can remember late evenings of working on the car, sneaking it out of the garage and joy riding it down dark country roads. Enjoy and continue the Pride.

yeah, i was pretty happy...even if the numbers are dwindling, that just makes them more rare and might raise the price of the even more. yeah, I can't wait to drive it again, we are still keeping it at the "shop". It still has an oil leak and we need to check like the trans-axel fluid, so we still have a while to go...
