How do I remove all the dash trim on my 85.5 944? I am going to repaint the Bottom part of the dash and I want to take all the trim off thats around the buttons and the ignition?

![]() I got the middle peice off by removing the buttons and popping it off...but around the clock and ignition is going to be tuff!

Forgive me if my recollection is faulty but I think you have to start on the outside and work your way in. In other words, to start, with the door open you take the screw out that is holding the side plate onto the dash. Then there are some more screws and pretty soon you can have the side air deflectors in your hand. Keep moving toward the steering wheel. Just be careful and don't be pulling or yanking hard on things or you'll break/crack something for sure. They will come if you have everything loose. If its not coming off you probably have a screw still in that you haven't found. It really isn't too big a deal if you take your time and don't get impatient.
