Just thought I would show a couple quick clips from today testing out our upcoming kit for the 944NA:

Ahh, good ole speed density mode. It would be nice to get rid of that annoying turbulence generator known as the air meter.

Yep, removing the restrictive AFM will provide a good increase in power. On the 951, we typically see an average hp/tq increase of nearly 10% by removing the AFM without any other tuning changes. And, the 951 AFM is quite a bit larger than the 944NA one; the 944NA AFM is even more restrictive.

We do offer two Tuning solutions for the 944Turbo:

Rogue Tuning - Home

We use a different approach for the Turbo cars, due to the more dynamic nature of a turbocharged engine.

Ok, so what does that Sd Stand for?

And in the second clip, how are you using that vacume valve/ idler. I hate trying to find the screws on those things when i gotta put them back in the chevy 3.1 v6 motor which is a garbage motor, good for me tho so i can replace the manifold gaskets when the water gets into the oil :P $$.

thanks for the freeware, dunno how to use it but i downloaded it anyways when i learn how

SD = Speed Density. Here is a good links for more reading:

theory-speed-density/

In short, I re-wrote the DME code to be a SD system, therefore using only a MAP & AIT sensor instead of the restrictive stock AFM.

Interesting.

Will it work on an early (1984) engine, or is the DME an issue?

My 944NA is an early 85. The only thing that will need changed is the DME - which is just a simple swap to the later DME.

This is what I am looking for. Eagerly awaiting information on availability and pricing for an 87 NA.

Sign me up for one ! This with a chip and better exaust will give the NA just little more fun i suspect ?

Will also have to get a late DME, gonna try get one that is alrdy chipped
MSDS headers would also be nice with this one. Keep us updatet plz...

PS : I read about ur turbo NA engine, pretty cool ! Was that engine total stock when u did it ? What if you upgrade the pistons to turbo type and turbo fuel injektors would that help keep it running for years ?

The first release will be for the 8-valve cars. I'm looking incorporating the 16-valve cars in the near future - however I need a local tester...

The kit will include our own chipboard w/ software. The AFM is quite the restriction. On the turbo cars, which have a better flowing AFM, we see an average of ~9% increase in power across the board! I expect similar gains, if not better, on the 944NA.

The NA engine was a totally stock '87 short-block. If you upgrade the pistons/rods then there is really no difference between it and a normal turbo engine - it would last for a very long time.

Do you have a rough idea on pricing? Im in Colorado too, do you need another NA to test on? I know it's wishful thinking...
