Serpentine belt issues

I recently posted that I had a belt squealing. I found out that it's the serpentine belt. So I started it up yesterday an it squealed for a couple seconds and then I heard the belt thumping against something else. So I turned it off and reached under the car and if I pull the belt I can make it thump. And it doesn't seem terribly loose. So what should I do? Could something have broken off around the belt and it's hitting that? Thanks guys
Tyler

Sounds like the tension adjustment is loose and something is moving when you are pulling on the belt by hand. Check carefully (Not when motor is running) to find the part that is loose - Is something just loose and needs adjustment, or is something broken and needs attention ???

Found out that the bolt had come out of the ac unit and fell into the pulley while the belt was going. Put a small dent in the pulley groove and that is what's causing the squealing. And the belt was rubbing against the timing housing.
