In the first post you said:
"I have a 1983 944. The car runs on ether, but doesn't run on gas." Did you get the NOID lite to check the DME signal to the injectors? Do you have the tach needle bounce 1/16th of an inch when cranking? Does your fuel pump work when 12V directly applied? You can send the DME computer to 944 Ecology to be tested. Hey John, thanks for your help. I tested with the noid light, didn't light. I'm positive i have good fuel pressure, the tack bounces slightly when turning the power on and off, but no bounce during cranking.
Thanks again, Charlie |

Looks more like it.
You might try to carefully --------resolder the DME, before you either send the DME to be tested or buy another. Read a couple: DME Repaired w/pics - Rennlist Discussion Forums Early DME repair write-up with pics. - Rennlist Discussion Forums Member TibetanT just posted a member on this forum does testing and repair. I do not know much more. " On this forum is a member named ischmitz, his name is Ingo and he fixes ECU/DME Porsche units. This will save you some time and money." You need to make sure you do not repeat the damage to the DME. What do you think caused the failure? Dead battery, cable short, corroded cables, high alternator output due to faulty regulator... Ground your self or wear a wrist band ground when removing the DME. Nothing to loose? GL John

EDIT:
Have you tested the resistance on the Reference sensors? Have you cleaned the reference sensor connections on the top rear of the engine? Are the reference sensor gapped correctly?
