RMS out but now new problem

Was finally able to get the RMS out by basically destroying it and then pulling it out. Did find another major problem though. There is a good size gouge in the sealing service running from just inside the lip all the way to the back. It is to deep to buff out so not sure what I am going to do now.
Definately do not want to put everything back together only to have a major oil leak but then again I don't want to have to replace the block either. Anyone have any suggestions?

did you try the grease and dowel rod trick to get it out? because having gouged it like that, there is nothing you are going to be able to do to repair that. only thing you could try is clean it with something caustic as **** to break up all the oil and then smear the new seal with jb weld or something similar and smash it in.

As far as I can tell the gouge was already there as I did not use anything in that area and the seal was in good shape at that point. I was going to try and use something to fill it and then coat the crap out of the rms with Curil.

Engine still in car?

No engine is out

Too much curil t and it's going to back out. If you want to put that much I would let it set overnight before installing so it has time to dry amlittle and become more tacky

Or jb weld it. Then sand down smooth. Actually there are some good metal type epoxy s out there. Some just as hard as aluminum. Even lowes carries them.

Yeah I was going to try and fill it with jb weld then sand it flat

Would this be the time to try the green locktite? I think it's made to fill in stuff like this.

Noooooooo the green locktite wont solve this problem and if it does it wont last long
