Big Thanks to the 924/944 Board - son wants a 944...
I am totally blown away! What a tremendous response from this board. Makes me want to go out and get a 924s or 944 just to be able to rap with ya. I learned more about this potential purchase in that one thread than all the previous research.
I have learned so much from the 911 board, even though I'm a gearhead and thought I knew about my car before I discovered Pelican. And now this response - fantastic. Pelicanheads rule!!!! A few responses to some of your questions: - We are DIYers. I put money into tools rather than labor. The person who described the work put into the car as therapy and pleasure hit the nail on the head for us. - He doesn't need a car to attract chicks. He's a babe magnet and has one that wants to marry him right now. No, no, no, not yet....... - One of my best friends is a Porsche master mechanic and owns a shop. Parts are sourced through his business and salvage. - Those that said they had or knew of cars for sale, I may be contacting you directly - thanks for the leads. We will discuss your advice tomorrow and decide how to proceed. I'll let you know with a followup posting Thanks again, Mike M |

Yeah my dad wasn't to happy when I bought my 944. He wanted me to get I nice dependable import of some sort, so I wouldn't have to dump much money into a car while I was going to school. Though now it seems to have grown on him and seems to like it. Except for when last September some body offered me 3000 more for it than I paid for it and I didn't take. Boy was he ever mad at me
