How do I access the oil/clock and A/C switch panel?
This pertains to 924s and early 944...I need to replace the switch and do not have any idea how to take the console apart to get behind the gauge pod so I can disconnect the fan switch wiring etc. Anyone care to help me out? Thanks in advance...

Whenever you run into problems, always turn to Clark's garage.com for maintenance help.

I think he is referring to the center console.

Yes but the instructions for pulling the consoles are there because it has to come out first.
It comes out pretty easy once you remove the shifted panel screws then you can see what's holding it but you have to pull the knobs and such. Use the instructions. They are accurate. |
Your right, I just didn't jump all the way down to step 9. Although I can't remember if I removed only the upper two screws or all four.

Thanks for the replies!....I did remove the 2 screws and the panel did not budge, I did not however try to lightly pry it off but perhaps another attempt is in order. Do I need to remove the panel below first to remove the upper panel, if so then that must be why it would not budge?
