Possible Oil Leak Locations
I'm having an oil leak in the rear of my engine, was wondering where should I start to look. It seems that the oil likes to run down the exhaust pipes and settle right infront of the O2 sensor. Possibly cam tower, or the cork gasket at the end or the tower, oil pan gasket, possibly rear main? There is no milkshake or oil in my coolant reservoir.

Start cheap n' easy, the cork gasket. One of the bolts backed out and gave me a leak down onto my exhaust. A new gasket soved the problem.

I thought that as well. My deal is I don't want to order a 2 dollar gasket with 8 dollar shipping. Would it be crazy to just buy all those gaskets for just-in-case and future issues?

Got any loctite 574?
If so you can just get rid of the gasket. It's the stuff used to create the seal between the two case halves of a 911 engine so it's good stuff and should probably last a very long time. Jackson |
