Could we get a better shot-is that a Porsche badge on the front as well? And the car is crying out for some 17" cup 1 or 2's!

Thanks guys. The 44 is mine and the 68 is my friend's car. Damian, if you've got any cups lying around send them my way!

I had 17" Cup 2's on my 968 coupe (dealer installed upgrade), then dropped the color coded rim (which was a genuine option) Cup 1's for the Kinesis Supercups on my cab.

My grail wheels are the magnesium Cup 1's from the 964RS cars; not likely to find them here, and many European 964RS owners keep them in the garage and run alloy Cup 1's instead.

i think i know where a set of those magnesium misnomered Cup 1 wheels are (which are really C2 Turbo wheels). and if they are still there, they are for sale, and trimmed in yellow, just like your car

I've been offered several sets, and have passed on other 17" Cup 1 mags. The price/performance ratio isn't there for me. If I had a rich wife I might reconsider!

i never heard of a Cup 1 mag. is that some periodical about dishes for single people?

i have heard of C2 Turbo Magnesiums.

last i heard, they weren't that expensive. pretty sure they were under $2k for the set, which is really pretty cheap for wheels. but i was also going on your comment of "grail wheels", which i presumed meant that you would snap them up if you found them, regardless of price. i didn't know you were just tire kicking, and not serious.

never mind then.

The magnesium Cup 1's were on the 964RS in Europe. Many 964RS owners have regular Cup 1's on their cars, as the magnesium versions should be crack tested every year. They are lighter than the stock Cup 1's.

You should buy them at 2K; I know of only a few sets in the US, they come up very rarely for sale in Europe, and never at that price. (Edit-a quick google search found a pair of rears, stripped but needing refinishing, for $3,500 . . . here on Pelican).

Of course, the new GT Purely Porsche had a story about a US based replica 968Turbo S, and the builder was quoted as saying he paid 15K for a set of genuine Speedlines for the car-pretty stupid, they are still available from Porsche for many thousands less than that. So plenty of 'so called' experts sometimes can't have a clue.
