Ok, when I change my whole clutch assembly, Ithought I would also,...

... replace the synchros in my tranny,... seeing that I have to take the tranny out. I also thought I would scrub it down and paint it with a rust inhib. Now, my question is,... these synchros we're talking about are nothing more than synchro rings and synchro hubs right? Thats all I found with pelican. I know its fairly to cheap to replace but a pain in the rump to replace. So it made some sence that the synchros were nothing more than rings and hubs. RIGHT? Also, whats a good rust inhib paint? Also, anyone know of a good short throw shift for the 944? Where to get it? Thanks for you help guyz!

overkill,

the tooth part requires a special tool & press for the early 911 & 914 trans. never been in the 944/audi type so don't know what kind of set up they have & how to change them.

1.2gees (ahmet) may know.

POR 15 products are the best solution to rust elimination and prevention I ever saw (and used): www.por15.com

Are you talking about painting something under the vehicle that is rusted? Not the tranny itself, correct? The tranny case shouldn't need any paint.

No, not the tranny, the gear box,... its looks rusted. It had this brown tint to it! So I crubbed as much of as possible then put all purpose mobil1 grease with a rust inhib in it. I would like to permianatley paint it though.
