Pelican BBS Members - Need your help if you own a BMW...

In case you haven't noticed, we have a small section of our site reserved for BMW owners. Up until this point, the Porsche section has of course somewhat dominated the BBS and the site in general.

In conjunction with me starting on my next book, 101 Projects for Your BMW 3-Series, I would like to ask for some help from our Pelican BBS BMW owners (all cars, not just the 3-series). I have recently divided up the BMW forums, and made some new ones for discussing technical questions on the 3-Series, and also the 5,6,7 and 8 series.

If you own one of these cars, I would like to request that you post a message or comment in our BMW section. I have it setup so that I get an email if there is any new posts, so I will be able to quickly respond to new questions and comments.

As many of you know with the other BBSs, this is important to community building. Helping to kick-start our BMW BBS would help me out considerably, and also help us to grow our BMW community quicker. More community means Pelican does better, which translates into continued support for all the forums in this entire BBS.

So please, take a moment out and post a quick question or note in one of the new BMW BBS forums. Even if you don't own one, but simply have a question or comment about them, then you're welcome to post. If only 5% of you post one note per day, then it really should start kicking!

Thanks again for your support with this endeavor!

Here is the link to the new forums:

Porsche Crest

I went sailing today with a good friend from Georgia down for the week. She has a 2002 M3 coupe and 1998 M3 sedan, has done some DE at Savanna and track time at Road Atlanta. I'll pass on the website info to her and maybe we'll have another great addition to the family. And for everyone's enjoyment, here's a G RATED pic taken out on the boat today... the BMW enthusiest is the tatto'd one, the other drives a 240sx convertible... pretty sweet huh?

I know that this may not be the right forum or time to mention it, but how about adding Audi to your line-up? Are you considering that, or have you already considered that?

Audi has been perhaps the fastest growing/selling European marque here in the US over the last few years, and it is continuing on an upward trend.

If you haven’t already done so, check out AudiWorld.com, and the mailing list archives at Audifans.com, and you’ll see a whole bunch of activity and enthusiasm.

I’d love to see you carry Audi parts and set up an Audi forum. Since getting my S2, and spending time on the Pelican Porsche forums and ordering from you, I would definitely say that I’ve been impressed and satisfied. Adding Audi parts and a forum would be great… for me (i.e. I have a 1992 100S with 193k miles. When that retires, my next vehicle will be another Audi), but I believe also for Pelican.

Nonetheless, good luck in your BMW endeavors.

Thanks.

Jim

I like Jim's idea about adding an Audi forum. I don't have an Audi right now, but have had experience with them in the past, and it is very possible that I might get the urge to get one in the relatively near future. They are great cars, every bit as good as BMWs IMHO. Picking between the two is just based on personal prefrence I guess.
