Thinking About a 79 924
Saw the ad below on Phoenix Craigslist. Sounds like a decent start towards a daily driver. Comments?

You have a Cayman and you're thinking of getting a 924?

Yep. I've always liked the 924. The first Porsche I ever owned was a 1979 924, so there's a certain nostalgia factor for me. I drive the Cayman on weekends and occasionally to work.

Just be careful about the 915 based "snailshell" transmission and it's synchros.

What JR said - they are usually damaged... though if you insist ideola does have replacement/repair parts for those trannys now, IIRC.
'nuther big Q would be if it's 4-bolt/drums or 5-lug/all disc or not - latter obviously being much better.
