Body parts interchange
Will the exterior body panels on 1978 924 fit on my 1987 924S? Also when did the galvanizing begin?

Galvanization of the bolt on panels started somewhere around late MY 1979 or early MY 1980. The parts will bolt up.

Thanks. I was thinking about buying a 78 for $400 with a really straight body (mine has significant hail damage). Not sure if it would be worth it though to swap out a galvanized part for non.

If it's the same color and no rust bubbles it might be worth it, but I wouldn't mess with rusty parts if I was given them for free.
