Arrow HVAC Panel Lost Power?

Friends,

It looks like I goofed up yet again. I was trying to replace the lights inside my HVAC panel this week. I got it out and determined that it was too difficult to disassemble so I didn't achieve my objective. The problem arose when I was removing the control panel. I was trying to pry the wires off and accidentally unsnapped BOTH wire bundle connectors... quelle idiote! When I went to put the part back in, the connectors separated and all of the individual wires came out. Not a big deal. The wires were installed in 85 so needless to say are formed which then told me exactly where they should go. I re-assembled the connectors and can clearly see each wire termination where it should be with respect to the connector as a whole and think I am in the clear. Then after I get it all back in and it won't power up. I don't have any fan speeds... nothing The fuses all seem to check out. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Firestarter

Cool

I thought you were selling that beast! Try Perry951 for help on the climate control. I know he had his apart recently for the LED conversion. If you're keeping the '44 let's get a cruise together this spring. I'm going to try to make the 944Fest in Cleveland.

Pete... I am selling. The buyer has been delayed for the last two weeks in picking her up, so I keep on fixing things that have always bugged me about the car.... although in this case it looks like I may have turned something from a slight bugging to a huge problem.

I know that I am now officially not allowed to hang with you guys, but keep me posted on your events (especially if they are non-P car specific...). I am the kind of guy that is always up for a meeting of car-guys.

I did this exact same thing! I used my factory service manual to sort it out. I indeed had a wire crossed and blew out the head unit. Thanks to the fact that Grommit was parting out his 951 I was able to get a new one. But first check the fuse in the central electric box for the heater circut.

Scott - Glad to hear that I am not the only one ;~)

Roger - Please elaborate. How would I check the continuity across a multiple pin connector? Or you talking about across each pin?

tifosiman - In a quote from one of my favorite movies "Ricky I'm sorry your Mom blew up"... sorry to hear about all of the problems you had last fall with your P-car. It was too bad that we couldn't have gotten together then. I am still open for cruising, etc if someone will let me ride along. Keep me posted (Firestarter_944@yahoo.com).

"Sorry your mom blew up".....

Better off Dead, right??!?!

I had a camaro just like the one in that movie as a teenager. Wish that I still had it (as a collectable, not to drive instead of my p-car, of course.....)

Yeah... 'Better Off Dead' is one of my all-time favorites.

You had a 68 RS/SS? The 327 is an unbelieveable engine. I would love to have one of those first gen F-bodies. Still one of my favorite body styles ever for american iron.

yes i ment to check the continuity across each wire if the wires were reinstalled correctly then the problem should be with the connections
