Will 951 OEM Koni Front Struts adjustable M474 fit my ‘83 NA 944?

The front shocks on my NA ‘83 944 are leaking, and looking to replace with used ones noted in title. I’ll change out strut mounts, dust boots too. Will the 1986 Turbo OEM Konis work on my car and anything else need to change, like spindles? If it’s straight across swap, I’m going to buy the used ‘86 turbo OEM jobbers to install. I’m new to Porsche ownership, so welcome your expertise. My background is with Ford Mustangs. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately they will not.
You will need to change spindles.

Thanks for your help Dimi P.

How about if I use the 951 Front Spindles from same 1986 Turbo, early offset, will these work with the Koni Turbo struts?

Really grateful for the help and expertise!

They should fit if you also swap the spindles. Thing is why? The struts you have are easily rebuildable with inserts, the M474 are not and those used Konis will likely be a downgrade from new Boge/Sachs.

I am planning to put the springs, torsion bars, rear shocks and f/r sway bars off my 86 951 onto my 87 924S. will get the koni inserts for the front. did this on a 87 944S with sealed struts.

I had already received the info on the spindles.

here is a great link I got from kdjones.

Thanks everyone for your advice, thoughts and input.
I’ll digest the Clarks info before deciding. The limited budget will likely dictate decision. But working for a nonprofit is the life I’ve chosen, that’s why I’m not driving a 911 turbo or an 89 Speedster, lol...

You guys are great, appreciate your kind counsel.

Just an fyi, the 924S and 951 share the same rear sways, shocks and torsion bars. So putting the stiffer springs and more aggressive Koni damping from the front of 951 onto the front of the 924S will induce more understeer, especially as the 924S is so much lighter than a 951.
