Warped 1-4 Header

Well i managed to drill out the stuck stud in my #1 header (thanks for the left hand drill suggestion TurboDuck!) , but then could not get the header back on. It looks like the reason the stud broke was due to warping.

My questions is I had the original 1986 Turbo header without the "accordion". I assume they made the new header with the accordion because this is a common issue? I just want to get some feedback before ordering on ebay since you cannot even buy new headers anymore for my model.
It also looks like i will need to remove the 2-3 header to get the 1-4 out?
Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. At least i got the stud out!!!

I have a very good set that I bought from 20th street auto that I've been using as a back up. I'm not going to need it anymore...

yes, it allows the metal to expand. Someone welded the expansion thing with a piece of pipe on my 951 when I first bought it. Lucky they cut out the mounting tabs to take in account for the expansion. it still leaked though.

it goes 2-3 then 1-4. It's like a big puzzle and a pita... lol

let me know if your interested. I'll dig them out of my attic.
