Steering rack rebuild

has anyone ever tried to rebuild a steering rack?

I've done it before and am about to do another one for my nephew's 86. They are not too bad if you pretty good with you hands and pressing in seals.

I just ordered the seal kit from Transtec and it looks nice and complete (I haven't open the sealded bag yet though). It came to about $40.00 delivered to my door.

Hey robm-951, thank a million for your link. I'll rebuild my steering rack and save $$. I thought there was no rebuilt kits anywhere. Whooo!!

i did find at autopartsgiant.com a remanufactered rack for about a $100. Look at it and let me know what you think.
