84 944 driver need some insight

okay gents so i've come across a really sweet deal on a southern car that runs and drives but I found a few issues that I'm wondering if I should bargain or run. tell me what you think.
it has 92K not verified but the underside and brake/fuel lines say its possibly close
it was 8 degrees and it fired right up however when i test drove it i wanted to see how strong the clutch was so from low RPMs and at about 5 mph in first i stepped on it and let of quick and heard a VERY distinct slap from the front, I'm thinking motor mounts, besides this it is a solid car but the interior begs to be gutted as it is truly horrible as some one tried to make it black from burgundy by spray painting the fabrics but i may just thow some covers on the seats and drive it. it has turbo phone dials on it and they look silly as the offset is........ well wrong. My DD was wrecked recently and my 924S has shocked me with its excellent winter manners but the 924 has sentimental value and i dont want to see it get destroyed/eaten alive by salt but this 944 is just rough and cheap enough id be okay with it.

I'm looking for some input from you guys if I should talk buisness or run. I will check back first thing in the AM and look foward and appreciate your responses TIA

why would anyone ever spray paint their interior?

carfax the vin, that can give you an idea on the history
how did it drive, did you like the car? if you like it the issues you mention are repairable, if you have to ask if you should buy it you probably shouldnt, as far as price, around $1K, good luck!
