shaving brake pads.
ANy ideas on how to shave a brake pad 1/16" inch?
I was thinking clamping it in a vice and taking a palm sander with about a 40 grit sheet. (I have been finding a lot of uses for a vice lately).... If I don't get my car on the road by the weekend I will be putting my head in that vice! Any other ideas? That may speed up the process?

well I went back to look again.... finally completed ...
Tomorrow bleed the brakes. check the tension on the belts. Flush the radiator.........and cross your fingers she will be on the road. and it was not the pad that was pressing the rotor it was the actual caliper. I am replacing my NA calipers with turbo ones. I thought the rears were done, until I noticed I could not spin the rotor once I tighten the calipers down. oddly enough.....the caliper was actually pressing into the rotors I ended up putting on a 1/16" spacer....and that gave me enough room. So no need to shave anything.
