944 won't start

I just bought a '84 944. The guy I bought it from said the car was running and then he put it in storage for a couple years and now it won't start after sitting for there for a while.
It will turn over but it won't start. Undecided I guess it could be bad gas, fuel pump, spark plugs or something else. What should I do to about checking it all? I was thinking about pumping the old gas out and putting good gas in and see if that works, but how do you check the fuel pump?

Hello Shurik, John_AZ always give good advise. Using Clark's it goes from A - Z, so if you want to know about the Speed or Reference Sensors you would use "S" and look for Sensors. We all use it even if we have the Porsche Work Shop Manuals. You should also start using the SEARCH at top of page where you will find nearly all of the answers.
